With CID being so active in the community lately, we've decided to move some of our postings on our NEWS page to this newly developed Blog page. The NEWS page will continue to offer our quarterly newsletters as well as any press associated with CID and other ILCs. This Blog will be a venue for us to share with you some of the events in the community that we are a part of, as well as those that we would like to help promote.
Please feel free to contribute and make any suggestions. Thank you for your continued support!
Second harvest Food Bank held its annual Partner Conference at the Oracle Conference Center in Redwood City and CID was delighted to be a part of the event. The speakers at the conference this year were exceptional and breakaway sessions were incredibly informative.

CID was proud to be apart of the Access Now Regional Power Summit on Saturday, March 30th in San Francisco at the Lighthouse for the Blind. We me up with activists, enthusiasts, and all around rabble rousers from the Bay Area. There were fantastic guest speakers addressing important issues such as IHSS and Managed Care. We also broke off in planning groups to discuss our strategies for the coming year. If you're unfamiliar with Access Now and the Disabilities Network , please check them out at the DoNetwork website.
CID also attended the Doing It Right: Culturally-Responsive Engagement Strategies for Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities Summit in Oakland on Friday, March 28th in Oakland. This wonderful summit was put on by Pacific Clinics and featured knowledgeable panels from some of the leaders in the behavioral health communities. Discussions involving Community-Defined Evidence, Mental Health Stigma, and Suicide Prevention filled the day with insight and activities.

March is March for Meals in Pacifica and CID was happy to join them on a day of deliveries to the wonderful seniors in the community. The Pacifica Meals on Wheels program provides meals to individuals age 60 and older living at home who are unable to prepare their own meals. Eligibility is based on residence in Pacifica and an inability to prepare meals or obtain adequate meals. Meals on Wheels can be provided during short-term convalescence or long-term disability.
Meals on Wheels volunteers are always needed - it is a rewarding service to do with a friend! If you are interested in delivering meals, please contact the Meals on Wheels Specialist in Pacifica by clicking HERE.
The Pacific Coast Farmer's Market Association graciously donated space for CID to have a table at the College of San Mateo Farmer's Market on Saturdays throughout February, March, and April. We were happy to have had the opportunity to say hello to our friends in the community and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
