Counseling & Peer Support
CID offers Group and Individual Peer Support services on a regular basis. The peer support group will promotes self-help strategies and supports healthy interaction and social skills. Groups are defined by the needs and wants of the people participating. Sometimes an individual has a personal issue, such as seeking housing or employment and experience from group members will help with how to deal with the issue. These are, however, fundamentally support groups, and most people who continue to come seek the social contacts and friendship they find in the groups.
Peer support group meets in the San Mateo office weekly Thursdays 2:00 - 3:30pm.
The groups are facilitated by Alex Madrid ext 203 and Abegail Insigne ext. 202
A completed intake is required to attend the peer group.
