Youth Services

YO! Disabled & Proud
CID takes part in the statewide Youth Organizing (YO!) Program, whose purpose is to develop future leaders in the Disability Rights Movement. Through the YO! program, youth can volunteer at Center for Independence for one year and receive a small stipend. Click HERE to find out more about this exciting volunteer opportunity!

Youth Leadership Forum
High school Juniors and Seniors are invited to spend a week in Sacramento, learning about leadership and advocacy skills! Click HERE for more information and to get the application!

Youth Group
Socialize with other youth with disabilities. Learn about the disability rights movement and support services.

High School Transition
CID provides services for youth as they transition out of secondary school. Specialists work with youth, their parents, and educators to help them set goals for the future and connects them to resources to help them meet these goals.

Transition to Independence Fair
Since 2014, CID has partnered with the San Mateo County Commission on Disabilities and other agencies to put on a resource fair for San Mateo County youth and their families. Click HERE for information about past and future events.

Call 650-645-1780 if you are interested in youth services at Center for Independence.
