About CID

The Center for Independence of Individuals with Disabilities (CID) is a consumer-driven, community-based nonprofit organization serving San Mateo County. Founded in 1979, CID is committed to promoting independence, self-determination, and disability justice. As part of the 28 Centers for Independent Living in California, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through comprehensive services and advocacy.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead our mission-critical programs, supporting independence and self-determination for individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate with a deep understanding of independent living philosophy and disability Justice. Program Manager is a full-time in person position and will be housed in our San Mateo office with some time spent at our San Bruno office.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program policies, goals, procedures, and evaluation tools
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to create and execute strategic plan
  • Develop and modify existing programs in alignment with grant requirements
  • Manage grant writing, submission, and reporting in collaboration with Executive Director
  • Supervise and evaluate program services staff
  • Maintain accurate consumer service records and perform quarterly reports
  • Develop training curricula and informational materials
  • Communicate program updates to the Board and funders
  • Maintain the Program Operations Manual

Skills & Qualifications

  • Lived experience as a person with a disability (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in social services or advocacy, including supervisory roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • Independent living philosophy
    • Disability justice
    • Independent Living Center (ILC) core services
    • Social service programs in San Mateo County
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs and organizational software
  • Experience with ILC-specific database management (e.g., CIL Suite)
  • Excellent communication skills across diverse stakeholders
  • Bilingual/bicultural (preferred)
  • Strong public speaking and presentation abilities
  • Experience in program development and strategic planning
